Rubber products believe that everyone is not unfamiliar, like the most common soles of our shoes, car doors and Windows seals, etc., but do you know what kind of rubber materials are used to make these rubber products? Today, Daxin rubber will lead you to know it together!
First, rubber materials can be divided into two categories according to the source, one is natural rubber (NR), and the other is synthetic rubber
Natural Rubber (NR) is a polymer of isoprene made of latex collected from rubber trees. It has good wear resistance, high elasticity, tear strength and elongation. Easy to age in the air, meet the heat change bucket felt, easy to expand and bath hydrolysis in mineral oil or gasoline, alkali resistant but not resistant to strong acid. Advantages: Good elasticity, acid and alkali resistance. Disadvantages: weather resistance, oil resistance (resistant vegetable oil) is the production of tape, rubber hose, rubber shoes raw materials, and suitable for the production of shock-absorbing parts, in automotive brake oil, ethyl enzyme and other liquid products with hydroxide.
Second, there are many kinds of synthetic rubber:
1.NBR nitrile rubber is suitable for use in petroleum hydraulic oil, glycol hydraulic oil, diester lubricating oil, gasoline, water, silicone grease, silicone oil and other media. It is the most widely used and lowest cost rubber seal at present. Not suitable for use in polar solvents such as ketones, ozone, nitrohydrocarbons, MEK and chloroform. The general use temperature range is -40~120 ℃.
2. Compared with natural rubber, the Copolymer of Butadiene and Styrene has uniform quality, fewer foreign matter and better stepping resistance and aging resistance. However, it has weak mechanical strength; therefore, it can be used when mixed with natural rubber. Advantages: low cost non-oil resistant material, good water resistance, hardness below 70 with good elasticity, high hardness with poor compressibility; Disadvantages: It is not recommended to use strong acids, ozone, oleic inflammation, olease and fats and most hydrocarbons. Widely used in tire industry, shoes industry, cloth industry and conveyor belt industry.
3. Butyl Rubber (IIR) is formed by polymerization of isobutylene and a small amount of isoprene, because the movement of methyl stereobarrier molecules is less than other polymers, so the gas permeability is less, the resistance to heat, sunlight and ozone is greater, and the electrical insulation is better; The resistance to polar capacitors is large, and the general thirst range is -54-110℃. Advantages: It is impermeable to most general gases, has good resistance to sunlight and central air and can be exposed to animals or plants or gasified chemicals. Disadvantages: It is not recommended to use inner tubes, leather bags, rubber paste paper, window frame rubber, steam hoses, heat resistant conveyor belts, etc. for automobile tires with petroleum solvents, gum kerosene and aryl hydrogen.
4. Ding eyes of hydrogenated rubber HNBR eyes (HydrogenateNitrile) hydrogenation butyl rubber in the eyes for butyl rubber by hydrogenation to remove part of the double chain, the after hydrogenated its temperature resistance, weatherability a lot higher than that of general nitrile butadiene rubber, oil resistance and butyl rubber similar nitrate in general. Generally used temperature range is -25-150 'C. Advantages: Compared with butadienitrile, butadienitrile has better wear resistance, excellent corrosion resistance, tensile resistance, tear resistance and compressibility characteristics in ozone and other atmospheric conditions with good resistance, generally suitable for laundry or dishwashing detergent. Disadvantages: Not recommended for use in alcohol, enzyme or aromatic solutions in the air conditioning refrigeration industry, widely used in environmentally friendly refrigerant R134a system seals. Automotive engine system seals.
5. Ethylene propylene Rubber (EPDM) is made of ethylene and propylene copolymerization, so it has excellent heat resistance, aging resistance, ozone resistance, and stability, but it cannot be sulfurized with sulfur. In order to solve this problem, a small amount of the third component of the double chain is introduced into the EP main chain and can be sulfurized to become EPDM, and the general use temperature is -50-150℃. Excellent resistance to polar solvents, such as heat and alcohol. Advantages: Good weather resistance and ozone resistance, excellent water resistance and chemical resistance, can use alcohols and chemicals, high temperature vapor resistance, good gas permeability. Disadvantages: Not recommended for food use or exposure to aromatic hydrogen. Seals for high temperature steam environment Seals or parts for sanitary equipment. Rubber parts in braking (braking) systems. Seal in radiator {car water tank}.
6. Neoprene rubber CR(Neoprene, Polychloroprene) is formed by polymerization of neoprene monomer. The vulcanized rubber has good elastic wear resistance, is not afraid of direct sunlight, has particularly good resistance to benign properties, is not afraid of fierce distortion, is not afraid of refrigerant, is resistant to dilute acid and silicase lubricating oil, but is not resistant to phosphatase hydraulic pressure. Easy to bind and harden at low temperatures, poor storage stability, in the silase lubricating oil, but not resistant to phosphatase hydraulic pressure. It is easy to crystallize and harden at low temperature, poor storage stability, and the expansion is the largest in the mineral oil with low benzene glue point. The general use temperature range is -50-150 ℃. Advantages: Good elasticity and good compression deformation, the formula does not contain sulfur, so it is very easy to make rice. It is resistant to animal and plant poisons, does not affect physical properties due to neutral chemicals, fats, oils, various poisons, solvents, and has fire-proof properties. Disadvantages: It is not recommended to use strong acid, nitro; Seals resistant to R12 refrigerant in cavities, vinegars, chloroforms and chemicals, rubber parts or seals for household appliances. Suitable for making a variety of direct contact with the atmosphere, sunlight, ozone parts. Suitable for all kinds of fire resistant, chemical corrosion resistant rubber crystal
7. Fluorine rubber (FPM) fluorine rubber is a special rubber, commonly used fluorine rubber - 26, fluorine rubber - 246, the former is the copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene, the latter is the copolymer of vinylidene fluoride, tetrafluoroethylene and hexafluoropropylene. Fluorine rubber has outstanding heat resistance, oil resistance, acid resistance, alkali resistance, aging performance and electrical insulation performance, flame resistance, small permeability. But low temperature performance is poor. Generally used temperature range -40 ~ 250℃, up to 300℃ for a short time. Suitable for the production of various requirements of heat and oil resistant sealing parts, hose, tape and fuel tank, but the price is more expensive.
